Camp
MITE 2027
MITE 2027 is a five-day residential summer camp that offers an immersive introduction to engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. The program is designed for current high school juniors—students who will begin their senior year after summer 2027. Please underline this eligibility statement on the webpage.
During the program, students will collaborate on an engineering team project, participate in hands-on activities, and connect with engineering students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Participants will strengthen their teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills while exploring what it means to study engineering and pursue a future in the field.
The program also includes an admissions presentation to help students learn about the UT Austin application process and prepare for their next steps.
Each session will welcome approximately 56 students, with spaces divided between male and female participants to support shared residence hall accommodations. All participants will stay with a roommate, giving them an opportunity to experience dorm life at UT Austin while participating fully in camp activities.
MITE is an engineering camp, and its programming focuses strictly on engineering. Participants are expected to remain with the camp and follow its schedule throughout the program. They will not attend outside events, meetings, appointments, or other campus activities that are not part of MITE.
MITE welcomes applicants who demonstrate a strong interest in engineering, science, or mathematics. Students are selected through a holistic application review process, and all eligible students residing in the United States are invited to apply.
We strongly encourage applications from students who have overcome socioeconomic challenges or have had limited access to engineering courses or extracurricular STEM opportunities at their schools. These experiences and perspectives enrich the program and support our mission to broaden participation in engineering.
