Event

Future Engineers Day invites students in the greater Austin area in grades 7–11 to explore engineering through an engaging day of discovery at UT Austin’s Cockrell School of Engineering. Students will explore their interests, learn how engineers solve problems, and begin imagining possibilities for their futures. The event also introduces prospective Longhorns to the supportive community within the Cockrell School.

Through hands-on experiments and activities, participants will practice creative thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving while discovering how engineering connects to everyday life. Activities are designed especially for students with little or no prior exposure to engineering, making this a great opportunity to learn, explore, and get inspired.

All students in grades 7–11 are welcome, regardless of experience level. Students who have completed several engineering courses or participated extensively in engineering programs should expect introductory activities.

Enrollment is limited to 25 students per grade level for grades 7–11, for a maximum of 125 participants.
