We are excited to have Riya Agarwal, UT STEM ED graduate student & MathHappens Intern, to lead our October session.
Title: The Geometric Art of Geraldo de Barros
Abstract: This discussion is based on an art piece that was a part of a traveling exhibit called ‘Geometry of Hope' that came to Austin Texas, a few years ago. The materials are simple, the connection to the art is authentic and the mathematics is accessible, but also complex. You will get to experience designing your own patterns, and investigating mathematical ideas related to these designs, such as infinite series, partial sums, and more.
We provide dinner, validate parking, and participants earn two CPE hours for each session.
We request that you register by noon on 10/28 so that we have the needed information for your CPE certificate, the food order, and parking validations.
