We invite high school and middle school mathematics educators to join us in person for dinner and active, engaging mathematics!

We are excited to have Kadron Johnson from the Dana Center at UT Austin to lead our April 30th session.

Title: Tessellations

Description: This session will focus on tessellations, with an emphasis on mathematical reasoning and structure rather than just exploration. Participants will investigate which tessellations are possible by analyzing angle measures and vertex configurations, and work toward classifying different types of tessellations. The experience will be hands-on, with participants building and testing their ideas, while also engaging in deeper discussion around justification and how we know a tessellation works. My goal is for participants to engage in meaningful mathematics and leave with ideas they can connect back to their teaching.

Participants earn two CPE hours for each session. Please register by noon on April 29 so that we have the information needed for your CPE certificate, food order, and parking validations.
