On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will travel across North America, with the Moon surrounded by the Sun’s delicate corona. Texas will be a great spot to experience it – the state is in the "path of totality" and typically enjoys clear, cloud-free weather.

McDonald Observatory is not in the path of totality but has created extensive resources including:
- Extensive Educational and Activity Resources (found under the Other Resources Link)
- Solar Eclipse Safety Information
- Where and When to View It Details
- Training Sessions: How to Host a Viewing Event
